Hey, I’m Cara

I know what it is like to feel anxious, defeated and to lose hope in the idea that things can change. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, constantly overthinking, struggling with ADHD, or feeling stuck in patterns that you can't seem to change, I understand the impact and complexity of these challenges. That’s why I am so passionate about what I do.

I strive to create a welcoming space where clients feel safe to be themselves, explore what matters most, and cultivate practical tools that support lasting growth and inner peace. I believe meaningful change happens when insight is paired with action.

One of my goals as a therapist is to make sure you always feel like you have a choice. No matter what you have been through, or will go through, you get to decide what happens next.

Why I thought therapy wouldn’t work for me

I grew up in New Jersey. I was the youngest child, active in cheerleading and gymnastics, surrounded by friends and a caring family. From the outside, things looked good. Inside, I was struggling. I had ADHD and learning differences, felt depressed, and judged myself constantly. I was angry, confused, and ashamed that I couldn’t “just be happy.”

I tried therapy, but the first few therapists just didn’t get it. I could predict what they were going to say, and I left feeling more convinced than ever that therapy just wasn’t for me.

But then something changed. I met a therapist who truly understood what I was feeling… sometimes she could put words to feelings that even I couldn’t express. She helped me feel seen, understood and validated. Slowly, things I thought were “unchangeable” began to shift.

How Therapy Helped Me Navigate Through ADHD, Shame, & Self-Judgment

Therapy taught me that there’s no one “type” of person who needs support. I learned that my emotions didn’t make me broken, they made me human. I stopped identifying as my feelings and started getting curious about them instead. I began to let go of shame, deepen my relationships, build my self confidence, and feel something I hadn’t in a long time: happiness— not every day and not in every moment, but in a way that finally felt real and lasting.

Why I Now Offer Therapy for Anxiety, Life Transitions, & ADHD

I became a therapist to offer the kind of space I needed back then, one where you can be seen and accepted without judgment, where your story is respected, and your potential is never overlooked.

If you’ve ever thought therapy wasn’t for you, or that your problems “aren’t bad enough”, I want you to know, this space is for you.

My approach to therapy centers around the idea that no two people and no two situations are identical. I work collaboratively with my clients to come up with a personalized plan so that each individual that walks in can move forward towards their goals, in the way that feels right for them. I prioritize a personable and comfortable setting for every session and believe that individuals gain the most meaningful changes through therapeutic relationship based on trust.

My style of therapy tends to be insight oriented, strength-based, and solution focused. My job is not to sit back and be a sounding board, but rather help you identify obstacles and resolutions, challenge any counterproductive patterns, and offer alternate perspectives. When working with me, I try to make sure that by the end of each session, there is something new you can take away from it. Whether it is a different way to think about a situation or a new skill to implement into your life, I strive to provide you with what you need to feel confident and capable of handling what life throws at you.

Let’s work together to move through what feels “unchangeable” and help you find clarity and hope in your next chapter.
